Hello from the Newborn Bubble™! In May, we welcomed our second baby boy, officially becoming a family of four. Mom, Dad and Big Brother are all doing great, but we’ve been shut away learning how to function in this new family dynamic, emerging only for sustenance and a bit of fresh air when the walls start to feel like they’re closing in. We’re getting ready to get back to our routine and re-enter the real world - whatever that looks like with a toddler and an infant - now that we have a few weeks under our belt, but shout out to the local spots that have kept us fed and sane these last few weeks.
Coffee. Obviously.
Parents? With a newborn? Drinking a lot of coffee? Groundbreaking. But in all seriousness, our neighborhood coffee shops have been lifesavers, not just for the much needed caffeine fix, but for giving us an excuse to get out of the house, get some much needed fresh air and a change of scenery. Our go-to spots have been Melo of course, but also Winter Swan. Located inside Stacy K Floral on Russell Street, this might be one of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee spots in Rochester (Sunday Coffee post on them coming soon), and the Dalgona Latte - Korean-style latte with honeycomb toffee, iced only - is everything.
Take out
Again, not news that a house with a new baby isn’t all that into cooking at the moment, but a more than decent amount of pizza has been consumed recently.
Hot-take-but-not-really: Ardor Park, a (somewhat) new spot on Park Ave, has some of the best pizza in town. Artisanal wood fired pizza is our love language, and the fact they deliver? Game changer. Our recent go-to order: The Charmander (pepperoni, blush sauce, jalapenos, mozzarella, chili flakes, hot honey) & The Olivia (parmesan sauce, Castelvetrano olives, broccolini, capers, goat cheese, chimichurri).

Also pizza from Amore (yes, that Amore). I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out: You need diapers because, well, that’s your life now, so you go online and order Amore for pick up, run into East Ave Wegmans, grab diapers, wipes, and your pizza + pasta, come home, and dinner is served. And honestly, it’s delicious.
Walking everywhere & mini adventures
Forever grateful that we live within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants, museums, playgrounds, and just general beauty (see: the gardens at the George Eastman Museum).
Any excuse for an (easy) adventure, whether it’s to the Seneca Park Zoo, the Public Market, or just Garden Factory (lol).

And for good measure: eating an entire Abbott’s cake out of the box, expertly paired with Living Roots wine…because if not now, when?

Thanks for reading! I can’t promise we’ll be super active right away, but we’re still here, still exploring and will share whenever we get a moment - it just might be between feedings at 3am.
